HERITAGE

Many of the projects and sites that we're involved in have heritage constraints, whether they are Listed Buildings, in a Conservation Area or simply identified as a 'Heritage Asset'.

The relevant considerations are familiar to us, and we work closely with specialist heritage consultants and architects to find creative solutions.  The projects we are involved in range from modest extensions to individual properties, through to the refurbishment of large Listed Buildings, where the need to identify and maintain a viable commercial use is key.

We are currently advising Addington Palace, a large events venue in Croydon where balancing the needs of the business with the effects of development on the Listed Building are key.

We have also undertaken audits for clients buying Listed Buildings to identify any existing areas of risk where works may have been undertaken without consent. Similarly Town Planning Services recently secured a retrospective Listed Building Consent for works undertaken to a property in Kensington and Chelsea to ensure everything was in order.

  • Audit of existing consents, and advise on areas of risk

  • Changes of use and advice on commercial uses within Listed Buildings

  • Developments and alterations
